To improve health outcomes and reduce obesity-related problems, nurses can help patients and families to understand the risks of obesity and educate them on the recommended amount of screen time and physical activity. Search Methods
When promoting change through EBP projects, nurses must use evidence-based interventions backed by scientific evidence. This evidence is obtained from scholarly sources. After formulating the PICOT question, I searched for scholarly sources from leading nursing databases such as CINAHL, PubMed, Medline, and the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews. Keywords used for the search included: childhood obesity, screen time, physical activity, and education. In each database, articles were further filtered according to the information and publication dates. Articles that explored the role of knowledge improvement, reducing screen time, and parental education to reduce childhood obesity were prioritized. You will use the literature review in this assignment in NUR-590, during which you will write a final paper detailing your evidence-based practice project proposal. In a paper of 1,250-1,500, select eight of the ten articles you evaluated that demonstrate clear support for your evidence-based practice and complete the following for each article:
1. Introduction – Describe the clinical issue or problem you are addressing. Present your PICOT statement.
2. Search methods – Describe your search strategy and the criteria that you used in choosing and searching for your articles.
3. Synthesis of the literature – For each article, write a paragraph discussing the main components (subjects, methods, key findings) and provide rationale for how the article supports your PICOT.
4. Comparison of articles – Compare the articles (similarities and differences, themes, methods, conclusions, limitations, controversies).
5. Suggestions for future research: Based on your analysis of the literature, discuss identified gaps and which areas require further research.
6. Conclusion – Provide a summary statement of what you found in the literature.
7. Complete the “APA Writing Checklist” to ensure that your paper adheres to APA style and formatting criteria and general guidelines for academic writing. Include the completed checklist as an appendix at the end of your paper.

A close analysis of the current state of health care delivery in the United States shows that it is not at the optimal level. Also, many inequities prevent the fair distribution of health resources according to people’s needs. Policy interventions play an instrumental role in addressing these problems.
Policy Issues Affecting Health Care Delivery and Population Health Equity
One of the major policy issues with a significant impact on health care delivery and population health equity is employer-provided coverage. According to O’Leary (2021), employer-provided coverage helps create a stronger and healthier workforce, guaranteed health and financial security. Covering more than 183 million Americans, employer-provided coverage offers multiple health plans and supplemental benefits, including dental and vision insurance (Caramenico, 2021). However, the policy affects employees’ decision to accept and stay on their job. The other policy with a significant influence is Medicare Advantage innovation. Medicare Advantage invests in new innovative programs to improve care delivery and lower costs. It is instrumental in reducing health inequities by ensuring that adults over 65 years get comprehensive cover and wellness care without additional costs (Caramenico, 2021). It needs much improvement to connect health and lifestyle better and provide more choices and better health outcomes.
Impacts on Advanced Nursing Practice
Advanced practice nurses have advanced knowledge and skills vital to addressing health care issues and improving health care delivery outcomes. Population health policies and initiatives oblige advanced nursing practice professionals to be in the front line of policy formulation and looking for opportunities to expand the reach of care to all populations. They must promote policies specific to population needs and use their knowledge, influence, and skills to solve policy issues and improve policy-based outcomes at the organization, community, and national levels.
