Jim (aged 22) has been newly diagnosed with schizophrenia. He is currently a student at Leeds University studying economics. His family live in Buckinghamshire and are very supportive.
Before his diagnosis he suffered mild auditory hallucinations which now seem to be under control on his current medication (risperidone 4mg daily) which he takes orally. He finds it difficult at time to deal with the side effects which effect his concentration which is having a marked effect on his studies he has also found that there have been changes relating to his sex drive.
He lives in student accommodation and has a good group of friends. Jim is currently in a relationship with another student on the course. He has not yet told her about his difficulties and is concerned that it may affect their relationship. He realises this sort of anxiety could be a trigger for relapse and is unsure what to do
