This assignment may require you to submit two separate files, one for the artistic expression and one for the paper, depending on the form of artistic expression you choose. Please submit both files simultaneously.
Purpose
Nursing practice is both an art and a science, with caring at the heart of both nursing practice and the nursing profession. Nursing care is influenced by the nurse’s knowledge, skills, and attitudes developed through lifelong learning and experiences. The goal of this assessment is to look into different definitions of caring in nursing. Students will develop a definition of caring as well as an artistic expression of their feelings about caring.

Consider how you demonstrate concern in your current professional practice.
Make an artistic representation of your perspective on nursing care. A drawing, sculpture, collage, poem, short story, or dance can be used as an artistic expression.
Videos should be between 1 and 3 minutes long.
Poems and short stories should not be longer than one page, double-spaced.
Drawings, photographs, and collages should be formatted on an 8 x 10 sheet of paper.
Sculptures must be submitted as a jpg.
Address the following in a one- to two-page written paper.
The significance of compassion in nursing practice and the profession
A personal definition of caring that incorporates holistic care principles.
Definitions of caring found in nursing literature that support your caring perspective
An explanation of the artistic expression you selected and how it represents concern
A summary of the key ideas presented in the paper.
